Singer · Songwriter · Recording Artist · Co-Producer
Born and raised in Queens, New York, Traci blends R&B, soul, jazz, funk, dance, and African-inspired rhythms into a sound that is both timeless and contemporary. Her expressive vocals and heartfelt storytelling bring warmth, sophistication, and emotional honesty to every performance.
Traci began her recording career as lead vocalist and co-writer of Contact’s “Don’t Let Me Down,” released on CBS Records. She later formed a lasting creative partnership with trumpeter, composer, and producer Willis Wilson. Together as AZ One, they released “All of My Heart” on Profile Records and went on to establish RubyBoo Records & Entertainment in 2003, creating a home for their independent musical vision.
Her album Chapters explores themes of hope, resilience, and positive change through original songs and distinctive interpretations of beloved classics. Her catalog also includes the collaborative project This Ain’t Your Daddy’s Jazz... and releases such as “In My Dreams,” “Keep It Together,” “I’d Rather Go Blind,” “Better Day,” and “Get Here.”
From recordings to live performances—including Harlem Week’s 2026 Smooth Jazz & Soul concert—Traci continues to connect with audiences through music that moves people, tells a story, and leaves something meaningful behind.
Music that inspires, uplifts,
and touches the soul.
TRACI TOTA
THE JOURNEY
Making music on her own terms—and always reaching for what comes next.
In 2003, Traci and Wilson founded RubyBoo Records & Entertainment, an independent home for their shared musical vision. Named for Traci’s mother, Ruby—whose family nickname was “Boo”—the label reflects their commitment to creative freedom.
That spirit runs through Chapters, a personal collection spanning original songs and fresh interpretations across soul, jazz, R&B, funk, dance, and contemporary sounds. Traci’s catalog also includes This Ain’t Your Daddy’s Jazz..., “In My Dreams,” “Keep It Together,” “I’d Rather Go Blind,” and the 2026 releases “Better Day” and “Get Here.”
Whether interpreting a timeless standard or sharing original music, Traci brings warmth, sophistication, groove, and emotional honesty to the stage. In August 2026, she and Wilson performed together at Harlem Week’s Smooth Jazz & Soul concert at Jackie Robinson Park—a vivid continuation of a partnership spanning decades.
